What is Counselling?

When people first come to counselling they are often at a point in their lives where they feel they are struggling to cope and they come along with a variety of problems.

Counselling is a process that involves forming a professional relationship between counsellor and client.

The aim is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space within which the client is enabled to explore and come to understand aspects of themselves which may be affecting the choices that they make in their lives. It enables them to share and work with the sometimes difficult feelings that arise around those choices.

Counselling also aims to support the client through any personal changes that they choose to make and it will also provide support to enable them to work towards acceptance of anything that cannot be changed, or that they choose not to change.

Why Private Counselling?

By choosing to have private counselling there will be no waiting list, you will have flexibility in appointments, a choice of counsellor and style of counselling and there will be nothing on your medical records.
