How I Work

My aim is to work in partnership with you towards an open exploration of the aspect(s) of your life that you may wish to clarify or change. I hold the view that there isn't only one model of counselling that helps everyone.

To work in a way that is tailored towards your needs and circumstances I draw upon my knowledge of different counselling approaches.

I have experience and training in the following:

If you would like more information about the counselling approaches listed above, please visit the BACP website.

You will be offered an initial 50-minute face-to-face assessment session. The first session is used to explore the possibility of us working together.

We can discuss your expectations, goals, any anxieties and any questions you may have. I will also explain my policy on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.

You are under no obligation during the assessment session to book further sessions with me as it's important that you find the right person for you to work with.

If we do decide to work together we would arrange to meet for an agreed number of sessions. I usually suggest six weekly sessions and at the end we will decide to end there or to continue depending on what feels right for you.

The following are examples of the issues that I have helped people with:

Depression Anxiety Stress
Panic Attacks Bereavement and Loss Work Related Issues
Low Self Esteem Low Confidence Drug and Alcohol Issues
Sexual Abuse Rape Self Harm
Illness Family and Relationships Suicidal Thoughts
