What is Counselling?

When you first consider counselling, you are probably at a point in your life where you are struggling to cope and feel overwhelmed by a variety of problems. You might experience issues in your personal life, and at the same time have to deal with a demanding workplace.

Worries about your job security, changes and pressures within the organization, dissatisfaction with the job and other aspects can build up to a very complex, stressful situation that can ultimately take its toll on your health and overall well-being. An understandable situation, but one you need to address.

As a trained professional counsellor, my work involves showing you ways and strategies that will help untangle things at this complex stage, and it is based on forming a genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship with you.

My aim is to provide you with a safe, supportive and confidential space where you are able to explore and understand aspects of yourself which may be affecting the choices you make in your life.

I enable you to share and work with the sometimes difficult feelings that arise around those choices.

I also support you through any personal changes that you choose to make, and work with you towards acceptance of anything that cannot be changed, or that you choose not to change.
